Candle Care
CAUTION: Never add water or place liquids next to a candle. This is dangerous and can cause a fire or explosion.
In case of an emergency, please follow National Fire Extinguishing Practices for putting out fires i.e using an ABC fire extinguisher, baking soda etc.
Memory burn
The first time a candle is lit is called its "memory burn". This first impression sets the boundaries for how the candle will burn until the wick is gone.
Trim your wicks before each use to avoid soot and excessive mushrooming contaminating the wax.
Memory ring
If a candle isn't burned long enough to melt all the way to the edges of the container, it will create a "memory ring". When the candle is lit again, the wax will only burn up to the last point it reached, creating a tunneling effect. This is because previously melted wax is softer and melts more easily than unmelted wax.
Muscle memory
If a candle is lit long enough the first time to pool evenly across the top, it will likely pool evenly in the same pattern each time it's lit after that.
Drafts can cause an unsteady flame resulting in an uneven burn. If drafts are unavoidable, periodically rotate the candle to counteract any uneven burning.
Burn Instructions
CAUTION: Candle containers get hot after an abusive (very long) burn. Do NOT handle until it cools or move the candle when lit. Keep the container away from drafts, children and pets. The first two or three burns will be your longest (4 hours each, max).
As the candle starts to get to the halfway point, we recommend shorter burn times of two to three hours to extend the enjoyment of your candles.
We recommend using a wick trimmer to trim your wicks.
Metal Tins
CAUTION: Candles made in metal containers get very hot. Do NOT handle tin until it cools. Keep the container away from drafts, children and pets.
The first two burns for this candle will be your longest burns (3 hours max or until full melt pool) The double wicks will allow the melt pool form quicker; we recommend you do not over burn. Halfway down the candle, you can enjoy two hour burns to extend the enjoyment of your candle.
Burn Times
Burn times are based on a candle burning for exactly 4 hours per use until the end of the candle. The average person does not time their burns. Our candles are long lasting if you do not practice abusive burns.
An abusive burn is a light time over 5 hours.
